THE SCYLLA OF LIBERAL PROGRESSIVISM AND THE CHARYBDIS OF dogmatism in the study of Russian literature

This polemical article presents two extreme viewpoints which currently exist in Russian literary criticism and which set the barrier for the adequate study of Russian literature. A way out of this deadlock is seen in the study of Russian literature.
